Course Title:  AutoCAD Level I (Beginners Course) Days: 3
Description:





Intended for individuals with little or no AutoCAD experience, this course will take students through the most essential concepts in a streamlined, step-by-step manner with the goal of quickly enabling them to create meaningful output.

Introduction to the AutoCAD environment, data input, basic object drawing, editing & modifying commands, using precision & accuracy tools, creating & using layers, entering & editing text, creating & modifying fills & cross-hatching, creating blocks, creating arrays, creating and editing dimension, basic plotting, and isometric drawing.  Students will produce three (3) fully functional & annotated drawings as part of the course: an Architectural Floor Plan, a simple Mechanical Device, and an Isometric Desk Detail.

Course Title:  AutoCAD Level II (Intermediate thru Advanced) Days: 3
Description:





Intended for the intermediate user, who is able to create basic drawings, but needs to learn AutoCAD’s advanced features as required for on-the-job use, or simply wants to round out his/her knowledge of this essential design software.

Topics Covered:
Advanced linework, in-depth overview of the “Options” dialog box, advanced dimensioning features, advanced layer management, using XREFs (external references), creating and using attributes, using Paper Space, viewports, advanced plotting, miscellaneous customization tools, and Intro to 3D (including wireframe & solid modeling).  Students will produce an advanced design and multiple 3D models, that will dramatically illustrate how these advanced feature are currently being used on a daily basis in the design industry.

Course Title:  AutoCAD Transitioning to 2010 half day Update Days: 1
Description: This course is designed for the experienced AutoCAD user who is moving to the latest release of AutoCAD software, AutoCAD 2009. This course includes practical hands-on exercises to give participants experience in using and understanding the features and functionality of the new product and the changes that they will experience when moving from a previous AutoCAD to AutoCAD 2009. The primary objective of this course is to teach the student how to transition from previous  AutoCAD to AutoCAD 2009 and how to work productively using the latest features and functionality of AutoCAD 2009.

The AutoCAD Architectural (ADT) comprehensive training course is designed for the user who wants to learn the functionality offered in the object-based AutoCAD Architectural software. This course uses hands-on exercises to leverage the student’s prior AutoCAD experience to master the ADT functionality.

From setting up a new project through the main ADT functionality, including productivity enhancements such as the recent Input menu, dynamic Input, editing objects in isolated views, use in-place editing to modify a curtain wall, create and use project standards in a project, use display themes, AEC materials and usable boundaries on a space object., create a schedule tag using the schedule tag wizard, create a tool catalog using the tool catalog generator, edit a keynote database using the Keynote Editor.

Course Title:  AutoCAD Creating and presenting 3D models Days:

This course provides a basic understanding of how to design and modify 3D models using AutoCAD® software. Creating 3D models helps users better visualize and present designs that are created with CAD. This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts and workflows for creating 3D models with AutoCAD. Students explore how to create and modify both solid and surface models. Students learn how to present their designs while they are still being created, using visualization tools such as visual styles, model walk and fly throughs, materials, and lighting. Students also learn how to output 3D models from the CAD system to either paper or a distributable, electronic version. The concepts and practices taught will help students take their AutoCAD designs to the next dimension – 3D! Hands-on exercises throughout the course demonstrate the modeling process using techniques that can be applied to the mainstream drafting industries. The exercises printed in the book are also provided in an on-screen format that can be viewed next to AutoCAD.

This hands-on foundation-level course covers the essentials of Autodesk Land Desktop. Your instructor will teach you about the key features of Autodesk Land Desktop, how to create a survey plan and a topographic survey drawing, and how to lay out roadways and subdivision lots. In this course you use Autodesk Land Desktop to perform land development activities for a sample project, the Portsmouth Heights Subdivision – Phase II. This course is designed to teach essential Autodesk Land Desktop concepts and applications over a two-day period.

Revit Architecture Fundamentals is a 3-day course that covers the basics, from design through construction documentation. This course is designed for the AutoCAD MEP user who wants to learn how to implement a mechanical HVAC system using AutoCAD MEP. This courseware uses hands-on exercises to teach students how to determine energy requirements, add HVAC equipment, ductwork, and fittings, and create construction documents using Autodesk Building Systems. Mechanical; Determine energy requirements for engineering spaces, Create and annotate schematic diagrams,  create an HVAC system with single line ducts, ductwork, and fittings, Size ductwork systems, create construction documents.

Electrical; Describe the electrical system design process and create a schematic diagram,  add devices and panels to an electrical system plan.Set system definitions, demand factors, and preferences, and use the Circuit Manager, add electrical equipment, wiring, cable trays, and conduits to electrical drawings, add labels and annotation symbols and create schedules, publish electrical system layouts to Design Web Forma (DWF).

This class introduces the model based design technology in Autodesk Civil 3D, and provides the core for its application in civil engineering and survey projects of any type.  The class examines the Civil 3D interface and environment, the management of settings and styles, and the development of civil project data, both from information developed within Civil 3D and from interaction with other products. Civil 3D training series continues in the use of model based design through the application of road and street profiles and their grading applications, as well as general site grading.  Building from the alignment tools introduced in Civil 3D Essentials, the class examines a variety of grading options for basic road and street geometry, as well as other corridor applications.  The session then examines site grading applicable to building pads, parking lots, cul-de-sacs or other non-linear grading applications.
